Moulvibazar District Detective Branch (DB) has arrested two youths with 260 pieces of Yaba tablets in a special operation in Kulaura upazila. The raid was conducted on Monday (August 19) night at the south side of the paved road adjacent to the Mangao Bridge in Sharifpur Union No. 11.
The arrestees are Nazrul Islam (25), son of Wadbox, a resident of Mangao village, Sharifpur Union No. 11, under Kulaura Police Station, Moulvibazar; and Maruf Hasan (23), son of Abdul Latif, a resident of Tengra Bazar village, Tengra Union No. 7, under Rajnagar Police Station, Moulvibazar. A total of 260 Yaba tablets were recovered from their possession.
The operation was conducted under the direction of District DB Officer-in-Charge Sudipta Shekhar Bhattacharya. It was led by SI Hirak Chakraborty, assisted by ASI Suman Ahmad and team members Kajol Rajbongshi, Zahirul Islam, Monirul Islam, Nazmul Islam, and Shiba Rani Das.
Police said legal proceedings are underway against the detainees under the Narcotics Control Act.
